"Is a Dead by Daylight and side scroller combination, inspired by the old Scooby-Doo SNES game from the 90s"
Dead by Dread is a 2.5D asymmetrical horror game set in a haunted mansion.
4 or more players take on the role of desperate victims in search of escape, while one player controls the relentless “killer”.
The victims' goal is to escape with their lives while the killer's goal is to stop them at all costs.
What makes our game unique is the 2.5D perspective, providing a visually stunning and immersive experience.
This game is being developed in Unity3D and Photon Fusion
Dead By Dread brings a whole new universe to a familiar gameplay style.
This is the first asymmetrical multiplayer horror game made in a 2.5D Platform!
Bringing games from the 3D SandBox universe to the minimalism of 2D Platforming is a trend that has worked well for several titles, such as Terraria and Kingdom.
WHERE WE ARE?
We've been working on Dead by Dread for just over a year now. We hit our quarterly targets to make sure everything is on track.
Our main goal for 2023 is to finish the closed alpha test version, which will be aimed at Steam players with test keys.
The purpose of the tests is, in addition to evaluating everything we have planned for the game so far, to give us a broad view of everything that still needs to be done to make the game perfect.
We want to use this opportunity to start our global testing and thus start the game's publishing cycle.
WHERE WE GOING?
We've entered the game's publishing cycle. We know from experience that this is where all the magic happens.
We have a lot of hard work ahead of us.
Now it's time to consolidate all the artistic, visual and sound work proposed in our GDD.
It's time to refine, beautify, bring storytelling and immersion to players, and make the game accessible to as many people as possible through localization and accessibility features.
In terms of production, we have a huge list with priorities ranging from additional content to portability.
ARE YOU A PUBLISHER?
Please don't hesitate to ask us for a demo of the game.
We have it ready, just waiting for your request!
We are looking for a partner who has experience in online games and can contribute to the brand's creative marketing. We are also seeking an investment (Advance), which will be instrumental in making Dead by Dread a reality.
So far, our own investment in the game has been approximately $66,000. Value that can be proven through accounting records!
With the publisher's investment, we will hire more strong hands to work on polishing and finalizing the pre-scheduled content for launch, such as: 2D/3D artists, social media manager and CloudScript programmers to ensure the anti-cheat of our reward codes;
- We will localize the game to major languages.
- We will finalize the creation of the steam store with graphic material, trailer and all the artistic and creative content of the game aimed at marketing and engagement.
- We will take the game to the main national events and some international ones where we have live partners, such as:
- Brasil Game Show 2023 (Brazil).
- Indie X 2023 (Portugal).
- Big Festival 2024 (Brazil)
Let's acquire some licenses, such as:
- Unity Support Pro: To help us take advantage of new technologies in graphics and performance
- Photon Fusion Premium Support: We already use this service and intend to keep it active. This support ensures that our team is in exclusive contact with technology developers, this allows for quick troubleshooting with the multiplayer system and also keeps us top of mind on tech news!
So, Along with the publisher's marketing expertise, we aim to create a solid bank of wishlists for the successful launch of the game!
WHAT WE OFFER?
We are very flexible, we evaluate any proposal with a lot of love!
% Royalty - range from 50% to 70%
% IP - Why Not?
Burst We are flexible for royalty burst in the recall period.
WHY WE NEED A PUBLISHER?
We believe in the adage that says: "together we go further".
A publisher has all the experience we don't already have, as well as having an established number of players that we believe will connect with our game. Also, there is the financial factor!
We are a small studio with very little internal capital.
We do not yet have passive income from previously made games and are therefore driven by the capital gained from the initial injection of cash into our ongoing projects.
Our last project was Eternal Hope, and with the money we made from profits, we were able to keep our team this far.
We are working on Dead By Dread for more than 1 year, we are ready to finish it in maximum 1 year and some months as described in the milestone, but we cannot get there alone.
Our project is going very well, but our internal capital is critical. This is the best time for a publishing partner to join the team! We have an incredible project, very well developed. We have a demo to present and are confident in our abilities to complete it. Now we just need a little leverage!
Chirs Z from How to market a game, in his presentation at the Big Festival 2023, mentioned the horror game genre as one of the hidden STEAM genres that are among the most profitable!
Total number of Steam games released by genre plotted against their average income
The red line is the average sales estimate for each genre from January 2019 to April 2022. The chart is sorted by average earnings. Thus, games on the left earn more than games on the right.
The blue bars are the number of games with these tags released in early 2019 to date.
Views on Youtube by Genres: This graphic came from Winter Next Fest 2021:
Most played demos
Speaking of Next Fest, in the winter 2022 edition, they added this widget that ranked the most played demos at the festival. All demos are free so there is no price here influencing them.
I looked at the top 12 games on the list:
7 of the top 12 were some combination of Strategy/Build/Simulator.
4 of the top 12 were horror games
THIS IS IT
The horror game market, as well as the asymmetrical multiplayer category, is constantly growing, being considered by scholars of steam numbers as one of the most profitable genres currently on the Steam store.
Dead by Dread has the potential to become a leading title in this segment.
With your support, we'll be able to move forward with our goals to improve gameplay and visuals, invest in comprehensive marketing campaigns, and ensure a successful launch.
We are firm believers in the potential of Dead by Dread and its ability to captivate a dedicated and passionate player base.
We sincerely appreciate your attention and are ready to answer any questions you may have.
Together, we can bring a new level of excitement and entertainment to the gaming world. Thanks.
